Conacul, \u00een stil mediteranean, cu balcoane \u0219i terase, a fost o re\u0219edin\u021b\u0103 de \u021bar\u0103 \u0219i o exploatare agricol\u0103 la sf\u00e2r\u0219itul secolului al XIX-lea \u0219i \u00eenceputul secolului al XX-lea, apoi a fost abandonat \u00een perioada regimului comunist, \u00eenainte de a fi restaurat \u0219i transformat \u00eentr-un centru de art\u0103 \u00een anii 2000. Din punct de vedere morfologic, locul \u00eembin\u0103 referin\u021be la vilele italiene \u0219i la stilul Art d\u00e9co \u0219i se deschide c\u0103tre parc, din care absoarbe lumina. Interesul Emmei Durovray s-a concentrat asupra re\u021belelor, rinceaurilor \u0219i spiralelor care se \u00eentrep\u0103trund \u00een arhitectura re\u0219edin\u021bei de vacan\u021b\u0103, dar \u0219i mai mult asupra spa\u021biilor sale de prag \u2014 por\u021bi, balustrade, ambrazuri \u2014 unde se negociaz\u0103, \u00een mod precis, \u00eent\u00e2lnirea dintre natur\u0103 \u0219i spa\u021biul domestic. \u00cen aceste zone de liminalitate, interiorul \u0219i exteriorul \u00ee\u0219i dau m\u00e2na \u0219i se prelungesc unul \u00een cel\u0103lalt. Nu exist\u0103 o separare strict\u0103 \u0219i liniar\u0103 \u00eentre cele dou\u0103, ci mai degrab\u0103 liane \u0219i volute prin care un spa\u021biu se leag\u0103 de ceea ce \u00eel preced\u0103 \u0219i de ceea ce \u00eei urmeaz\u0103.&nbsp;<br>\u2003Pentru a face sim\u021bite aceste porozit\u0103\u021bi dintre arhitectur\u0103 \u0219i natur\u0103, Emma Durovray preia dimensiunea ciclic\u0103 care reglementeaz\u0103 via\u021ba plantelor \u0219i cea a umbrelor purtat\u0103 de ornamente. Imaginate ca \u0219i martorii silen\u021bio\u0219i a activit\u0103\u021bilor umane, plante tinctoriale sunt recoltate din acest loc \u0219i prelucrate pentru a colora \u021bes\u0103turi preg\u0103tite \u00een prealabil \u00eentr-o solu\u021bie pe baz\u0103 de alaun. Prin seria Shadow, se poate citi originea ornamentelor de feronerie \u00een gardurile vii tunse, acea prezen\u021b\u0103 spectral\u0103 care precede orice lucru supus timpului. Motivele \u2013 vegetale \u0219i arhitecturale, se amestec\u0103 \u00een compozi\u021biile fixate \u00een manier\u0103 fotosensibil\u0103 datorit\u0103 tehnicii cianotipie. Prin acest procedeu, formele sunt decontextualizate, dificil de identificat \u00een originea lor \u0219i dob\u00e2ndesc astfel o anumit\u0103 anacronicitate. Deplasarea luminii, dimensiunea mistuitoare \u0219i monocromia vibrant\u0103 particip\u0103 \u00eentr-o anima\u021bie a motivelor. Acestea sunt, \u00een acela\u0219i timp, fixate \u0219i diluate de color\u0103rile naturale, \u00een compozi\u021bii-portret care le confer\u0103 statutul de membri ai familiei, integr\u00e2ndu-le pe picior de egalitate cu omologii lor umani \u00een ceea ce, \u00een ochii artistei, nu este at\u00e2t un ierbar, c\u00e2t mai degrab\u0103 un album fotografic. De aici decurge o rela\u021bie de lung\u0103 durat\u0103 a acestor imagini at\u00e2t prin temporalitatea proprie dezv\u0103luirii lor prin fotosensibilitate pe suport, c\u00e2t \u0219i prin dimensiunea lor fosil\u0103, abia dezv\u0103luit\u0103. \u00cen starea de b\u00e2ntuire, \u00een forme am\u00e2nate, plantele supravie\u021buiesc \u00een ciuda dispari\u021biei lor anun\u021bate. La r\u00e2ndul lor, fulguran\u021ba lor influen\u021beaz\u0103 modul \u00een care arhitectura \u00eens\u0103\u0219i poate fi perceput\u0103 ca o arhiv\u0103 trec\u0103toare \u0219i
